Csanádi Judit

Born in 1953 in Budapest, graduated from the Technical University, Faculty of Architecture in 1976, in 1980 she won a scholarship at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada and attended the Joseph Svoboda Master’s Course.
She worked and works for many Hungarian Theatres.

Between 1991 and 1993, she lived in Montreal teaching set design at Concordia University and the National Theatre School of Canada, where she teaches a course entitled ‘The Spiritual Language of Space’ until this day. She has worked for many Canadian Theatres.

She was involved in researches around the theatre space, she published in Theater Architecture in Central Europe, The Experimental THeatre Spaces in Hungary after the Berlin wall. (2010.)

Between 1994 and 2002 she is the designer for the National Theatre in Gyor. She was awarded the Jaszai Mari prize in 2001, Fonix Award, 2006, Hevesi Sandor prize, 2008, World Stage Design, Silver Prize, 2009.

In 2002. she won her Doctor of Liberal Arts Degree and since then has been the head for the Scenography Department at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, from 2011. as full professor.
